Bayshore Beautiful contains examples of Tampa's most stately and elegant homes with 4,764 homes in the neighborhood. This Tampa neighborhood is one of the city's more luxurious communities, with top-tier schools and homes hugging picturesque Hillsborough Bay. The most notable feature of Bayshore Beautiful is the scenic Bayshore Boulevard sidewalk. The world’s longest continuous sidewalk, extending nearly five miles along the water and welcoming runners, walkers and roller bladders, offers beautiful views of the grand homes which line Bayshore Boulevard, stunning sunsets, and the downtown Tampa skyline. There is a festive vibe during the annual Gasparilla parade in late January, which is a rich part of Tampa’s history and a very important part of the Bayshore culture.
Most of the homes in the Bayshore Beautiful neighborhood were built in the early 1920’s. The area features homes that are very consistent in character. While Bayshore Beautiful features some larger pricier homes, upwards of 3,000 square feet, there are also homes around 1,000-1,500 square feet that require some renovations. There are varying architectural styles, including ranches, Mediterranean Revival homes with archways and red tiled roofs and symmetrical Colonial Revival-style properties, that range from the early 20th century through today. Some newer homes copy vintage styles to blend with surrounding homes. Dense canopies of tall, old trees provide heavy shade on many streets. There are condominiums, some near the water, varying in living area square footage.
Residents of Bayshore Beautiful have access to all of the amenities of Tampa Bay. The South Tampa network of communities affords an abundance of opportunities for dining and shopping. Restaurants include fine dining options, casual fare, as well as cafes and coffee shops. Shoppers will delight in quirky boutiques, antique shops and well known and loved retail chains. Between Bayview and Wallcraft Avenues on MacDill Avenue, there is a small district of bars, cafes, and shops.
Bayshore Beautiful is surrounded by Palma Ciea Park with basketball, dog park and grills, Ballast Point Park with boating, fishing and Fred Ball Park with picnic area, tennis and walking trails. The location is convenient for those working in greater Tampa or St. Petersburg, about 20 miles south across the bay. Tampa International Airport is 16 minutes away.
