Located on the barrier islands close to Englewood and Venice, Manasota Key is a pristine 11 mile island. Access to the island is across two bridges over the Intracoastal Waterway, one at the north end in Sarasota County, and one to the south in Charlotte County.  Quite a few of the properties enjoy water views with the most sought-after homes being located right on the Gulf,  while others offer views of Lemon Bay and the small isles of Stump Pass Beach State Park and the Lemon Bay Aquatic Preserve. This island offers breathtaking waterfront views that embody the pinnacle of Florida coast living with homes that boast vast sizes and stunning architectural designs making the area a beacon for those seeking an affluent community.

Between condos and single-family residences, there are only about 1,000 homes on the island, some are million-dollar New England mansions that sit right in front of the beach. Some homes have private docking space along the many canals around the island. Manasota Key features four beaches with a variety of facilities offering beach goers and boaters a tropical setting. A canopy of trees covers the two lane road as it winds along the island. Private residences are tucked away behind lush tropical foliage, some extending from Gulf to Bay.

In general, pricing in Manasota Key is very affordable when compared to other beach communities in Southwest Florida. The area still has many quaint beach bungalows and cottages tucked away behind the dense vegetation. These charming homes swap cavernous interiors for raise deck areas, longer drives, and affordability and are less than 1,000 square feet. Manasota Key still has its fair share of low-rise condos and gated villa communities that is not as heavily developed as other areas around Venice and Sarasota. In these developments you will be able to enjoy high-quality amenities, including pools, tennis courts, beach access, private docks, and facility rentals.

Residential zoning dominates this part of town, although there are a few seafood restaurants and pubs along North Beach Road. Driving to South Englewood for groceries does not take long at all; the Merchants Crossing shopping center, which is anchored by a remodeled Publix supermarket, is less than 10 minutes away.
