New Tampa is a unique area on the north side of Tampa Florida. This is a master-planned community with the most desired areas tend to be in the south parts of the neighborhood, while more affordable homes are in the southwest regions. Surrounded by vast parkland and business parks, New Tampa South features apartment complexes and townhouse communities. The Hidden River VA Clinic sits in the south half of the neighborhood, giving local veterans access to healthcare options. New Tampa North features several gated golf communities. The center offers both gymnastic and dance classes. In addition to the gymnastics area, the center features a concrete bi-level street skate park with pyramids, stairs, wedges and grind rails, and a series of quarter-pipe turns.
The New Tampa Regional Library is located on Cross Creek Blvd. adjacent to a small lake and wooded area offering a panoramic view of a natural habitat from the reading room.
The New Tampa Family YMCA is a wellness center with an olympic-sized swimming pool, family activities and group exercise classes for all. The wellness floor features new cardio and strength equipment.
New Tampa Performing Arts Center, a 20,000 square foot facility, includes a 354 seat multi purpose theatre with a large stage, elaborate sound and lighting complete with orchestra pit.
Residents of all ages can visit Flatwood Park, Morris Bridge Park, Trout Creek Wilderness Park or the Washburn Equestrian Area. Each park welcomes runners, cyclists and bird watchers. Children can play on the ropes course and zipline at New Tampa Nature Park. Lettuce Park has a shaded playground and several covered picnic and grilling areas. Boardwalks weave through the hardwood swamps, leading to a lakeside observation tower. Residents can canoe, kayak or fish along the Hillsborough River. Flatwood Park has bike trails, boating and camping.
New Tampa is accessible to Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Cross Creek Blvd., I-75, I-275 and New Tampa Blvd. for easy commutes. It is close to the University of South Florida and close by shopping. It is a 17 mile drive to Downtown Tampa and its amenities. Tampa International Airport is a 40 minute drive. Advent Health Care facility is in North New Tampa.
